Add Contestants

Contestants in ONE RACEHUB represent the individual entries in your racing series. Learn how to manage contestants in ONE RACEHUB.

What is a contestant?

  • Each contestant in ONE RACEHUB is typically a car entry with its own start number, class, and associated drivers.

ⓘ Each contestant has a unique ID, which stays the same for the whole season, even when the car changes.

  • A contestant belongs to a season, not to a series. Contestants from one season don't carry over to the next. Add them again in each new season.

Before you start

Make sure that:

  • A series is already created
  • A season is set up within that series

Optional (recommended):

  • A chassis defined (enables chassis assignment to Setup Sheets)

Add a contestant

💡  You can add contestants in two places:

  • In the Add Season window, when you create a season. See the Add a Season article.

  • In Admin → Contestants, for a season that already exists.

  1. Navigate to Admin → Contestants
  2. Click Add new Contestant in the top-right corner
  3. Fill in the required information:
    • Season: Select the season this contestant will participate in from the dropdown
    • Start Number: Enter the racing number for this entry (e.g., "60")
    • Class: Optionally, specify the vehicle class (e.g., "GT3", "LMP2")
  4. Click Save

Edit contestant details

ⓘ  You can change a contestant at any time. It keeps its unique ID and its history.

After creating the basic contestant entry, you can add more detailed information:

  1. Find your contestant in the list
  2. Click the pencil icon to edit
  3. Add additional details:
    • Chassis: Assign a chassis if you have one defined
    • Drivers: Assing the drivers associated with this entry
    • Team: Assign a Team if needed. See How Permissions Work in ONE RACEHUB to understant team assignment.
    • Manufacturer: Choose a manufacturer
    • Hidden from run sheet: When checked, the car is kept out of the car list on the Run Sheet.
    • Baseline Color: It sets the car's default color on Run Sheet.

  4. Save your changes

⚠️ ONE RACEHUB matches timing data to contestants by start number within a season. The start number must match the number in the ONE TIMING feed exactly, e.g., "11" and "011" are treated as different cars.

Example: Setting Up a GT3 Entry

Let's create a contestant for a GT3 championship:

  1. Go to Admin > Contestants
  2. Click Add new Contestant
  3. Type season: "2027" > Select "2027 (DTM)"
  4. Enter start number: "99"
  5. Enter class: "GT3"
  6. Save the contestant
  7. Edit the contestant to add:
    • Chassis: "Manufacturer GT3 #1"
    • Drivers: "Driver A" and "Driver B"

This contestant entry can now be used throughout your 2027 season events.
