Job List Templates

Streamlines recurring tasks by allowing pre-defined job sets to be quickly imported into runsheets. They enhance efficiency, consistency, and ensure no critical tasks are overlooked.

What Are Job List Templates?

Job List Templates allow you to create pre-defined sets of jobs that can be quickly imported into a runsheet. They're especially useful for repeating tasks that you perform regularly during race events.

Accessing Job List Templates

  1. Click on "Templates" in the sidebar menu
  2. Select "Job List Templates"
  3. You'll see a list of your existing templates or you can create new ones

Creating a Job List Template

To create a new template:

  1. Click "New Job List Template"
  2. Enter a name for your template (e.g., "Pre-Race Checks")
  3. Click "Add" to create your job in the template
  4. For each job, enter:
    • Description
    • Priority
    • Assignee(s)
  5. Continue adding as many jobs as needed
  6. Save your template

Your template is now ready to use.

Using a Template in a Runsheet

When you want to use your template:

  1. Open the runsheet for your run
  2. In the Job List block, click "Import Job List"
  3. Select the template you want to use
  4. Review the jobs to be imported
  5. Click "Import" to add all the jobs to your runsheet

All jobs from the template will appear in the Job List, ready to be acknowledged and completed.

Example Template: Pre-Qualifying Checks

A simple template might include:

  • "Check tire pressures"
  • "Verify wing settings"
  • "Confirm brake balance"
  • "Torque check all wheels"

Instead of creating each of these jobs individually for every qualifying session, you can import them all at once with a template.

Managing Your Templates

You can:

  • Create multiple templates for different scenarios
  • Edit existing templates to update or improve them
  • Duplicate templates to create variations
  • Delete templates you no longer need
  • Import/Export Templates from/into JSON Format

Benefits of Using Templates

  • Save time by not recreating the same jobs repeatedly
  • Ensure consistency in your procedures
  • Reduce the risk of forgetting important tasks
  • Standardize processes across your team

Sorting Jobs

In both templates and job lists, you can sort jobs by:

  • Job number
  • Status
  • Priority

Simply click on the column header to sort by that field.

Tips for Effective Templates

  • Keep job descriptions clear and specific
  • Create separate templates for different race scenarios
  • Review and update your templates periodically
  • Name templates clearly so everyone knows when to use them

Templates help streamline your team's workflow and ensure that important tasks are never missed during critical race events.
