Parts
Parts are the components of your racing vehicle, distinct from theoretical specifications. Each part is uniquely identified, tracked through its lifecycle, and can be assigned to assemblies.
What Are Parts in ONE RACEHUB?
Parts in ONE RACEHUB represent the physical components that make up your racing vehicle. Unlike specifications, which define the theoretical possibilities, parts are the actual physical items you have in your inventory.
Each part:
- Is based on a specification type
- Has a unique identifier
- Can be tracked throughout its lifecycle
- Can be assigned to assemblies
Creating Parts
Accessing the Parts Section
- Navigate to the Parts section in the main menu
- Click Add New Part
Part Information
When creating a new part, you'll need to provide:
- Part Reference: A UNIQUE name for the part (e.g., "Front Wing 12 - Spec A")
- Part Number: Your internal numbering system
- Manufacturer Part ID: The manufacturer's identification number
- Description: Additional details about the part
- Chassis Spec: Which chassis this part is for
- Specification Type: What type of part this is (from your specifications)
Tip: You can create multiple parts in one go to speed up the process, which is useful when setting up your initial inventory.
Part Status
Each part has a status that indicates its current condition:
- Active: The part is in use or available for use
- Inactive: The part is not currently in use
User Enums/ Part Status
For more detailed tracking, you can create custom statuses using User Enums:
- Navigate to the User Enums section
- Add status indicators like:
- "Available"
- "Damaged"
- "In Transit"
- "In Repair"
These custom statuses allow for more granular tracking of your parts inventory.
Set the Part Status to Active/Inactive according to your defined status indicators in the User Enum section.
Part Lifecycle Management
Parts in ONE RACEHUB can be tracked throughout their entire lifecycle:
- Creation: When the part is first added to the system
- Assignment: When the part is assigned to an assembly
- Usage: When the part is used in race events
- Retirement: When the part is no longer used
Each stage is recorded, creating a complete history of the part.
Part Instances
A part instance represents a specific state of a part at a particular point in time:
- When you add a part to an assembly, you create a part instance
- Each time the assembly is used, a new part instance is created
- This allows for tracking the part's usage over time
Part Tags and Categorization
To better organize your parts inventory, you can:
- Add tags to parts for filtering and searching
- Group related parts together for easier management
