Run Sheet Layouts
Learn how to create and customize run sheet layouts in ONE RACEHUB to match your team's workflow and data collection needs.
The Run Sheet is the heart of your ONE RACEHUB experience, providing the option to protocol most of the operations you perform around your race car during an event. Your template is therefore key to get right. Understanding that engineers are accustomed to their run sheets from Excel, HH, or other systems, we offer maximum freedom to customize your centerpiece tool.
Accessing Run Sheet Layout Editor
The editing of run sheet layouts can be found in Templates → Run Sheet Layouts. To add a new layout, press the "Add new RunSheet Style" button, which will open a new Run Sheet Editing Page.
Creating Your Layout
Naming Your Layout
Start by giving your layout a unique name. Best practices include using either your name or the car model you want to use it for, followed by a versioning identifier.
Tip: Use descriptive names like "Engineer_Smith_GT3_v2" or "Ferrari_488_Race_v1" to easily identify layouts later.
Configuring Lap Flag Labels
Always extend the "Lap Flag Labels" menu, located under the Name input field. This section contains 18 different lap types, each with its own name input field. These allow you to define abbreviations for each lap type, maintaining consistency with your conventions.
Examples of common abbreviations:
- QUALI Lap → "Q"
- SAFETYCAR Lap → "SC"
Note: Configuring lap flag labels is critical for ONE RACEHUB's fuel/energy calculations to function properly.
Adding Layout Blocks
The "Add Blocks" section provides various block types to build your custom layout:
Available Block Types
Blanking (Legacy): Best practice is to cover this functionality through Setup blocks.
Comment: Add run descriptions, driver comments, engineer comments, and more. The specific use case is defined in the editing menu after adding the block.
Fuel/Energy Block: Define fuel/energy consumption per lap and specify amounts in the car at run start, or amounts added/drained. This enables ONE RACEHUB's automatic fuel/energy estimation. Pre-defined values can be imported from your Event settings.
Issue Block: Provides a comprehensive view of your issue manager. Quickly add new issues that reference specific runs and maintain already opened issues.
Job List: Overview of all currently open jobs with status tracking and comments. See the "Jobs" article for more information.
Mini Job List: Compressed view of the Job List functionality.
Lap Table: Key feature for tracking laps, sectors, adding per-lap comments, fuel estimations, and setting lap types. Fully configurable - see the "Lap Table" article for details.
Lap Time Threshold (Legacy): Legacy feature maintained for compatibility.
Lap Type Count (Legacy): Legacy feature maintained for compatibility.
Run KPI Table: Track your Run KPIs directly from the run sheet.
Setup Sheet: Makes your Mini Setup Sheet visible. For more information, visit the Setup Sheet Layout 📎 article.
Tyres: Choose which tires were mounted for each run, track pre-run and post-run mileages, and define tire-related KPIs including start/post pressures/temperatures and pressure bleeds.
Brakes (Legacy): Legacy feature - best practice is to cover this through Setup Sheet.
Weather: Input weather parameters for each run. Data entry is mostly manual, though some timekeepers provide automation and personal weather stations can be integrated. Contact support@paceteq.com to inquire about integration possibilities.
Customizing Block Properties
Each block has its own editing menu accessible by clicking the "edit" icon after adding the block to your layout. All blocks allow you to define custom background and border colors.
Specific blocks like Comments or Lap Table offer additional customization options:
Comments: Define the purpose (Engineer comments, Driver comments, etc.)
Lap Table: Select displayed columns such as Sector Times, Fuel Estimation, Sector Speeds, and more
Arranging Your Layout
After adding blocks, you can completely customize their arrangement. Each block features a small arrow in the bottom right corner that allows you to resize the block. Once sized appropriately, use drag and drop to align blocks within your layout.
A preview of your layout is always visible below the editing area, allowing you to see changes in real-time.
Important: Always use the blue "Save" button at the bottom after every change. To revert changes, use the "Cancel" button.
Activating Your Layout
After building your layout, activate it through your Profile Settings:
- Navigate to "YOUR USERNAME" at the bottom of the sidebar
- Select "Profile"
- Choose your new run sheet as the one you want to use
- Optionally, select any Run Sheet Layout as your RunCompare Sheet
Note: Editing permissions are role-dependent. For example, users with the Mechanic role require an admin to select a run sheet in the User/Driver 📎 menu.
Best Practices
- Start with essential blocks (Lap Table, Comments, Fuel/Energy) before adding specialized ones
- Create versions for different car types or event formats
- Regularly review and update layouts based on team feedback
- Keep block arrangements logical and intuitive for quick data entry
Tip: Consider creating a master template that can be duplicated and modified for specific use cases rather than starting from scratch each time.
