Organize racing activities by managing multiple seasons per series, adding contestants, and using features like copying and editing for efficient management.
What Is a Season?
A Season in ONE RACEHUB represents a specific period within a series. Typically, this corresponds to a calendar year or a specific championship season. Each series can contain multiple seasons, allowing you to organize your racing activities chronologically.
Accessing the Season Level
To access and manage seasons:
- Navigate to Admin → Events
- Click on the name of a series
- This will take you to the season level for that series
Creating a New Season
To add a new season:
- Click the Add Season button
- Enter a name for the season (e.g., "2024" or "Season 11")
- Add contestants and their respective classes (if applicable)
- Save the new season
Your new season will appear in the list of seasons for that series.
Season Naming Conventions
Common naming approaches include:
- Calendar years: "2023", "2024", etc.
- Sequential numbers: "Season 10", "Season 11", etc.
- Descriptive names: "Spring Testing", "Summer Development", etc.
Choose a naming convention that makes sense for your team and stick with it for consistency.
Adding Contestants
When setting up a season, you can add the competitors that will participate:
- In the season creation or edit screen, add contestants
- Specify each contestant's name
- Assign them to the appropriate class if your series has multiple classes
- Save your changes
This information helps organize your data and can be used for filtering and reporting later.
Managing Existing Seasons
From the season overview, you can:
- View all seasons within the selected series
- Click on a season name to see its events
- Edit a season by clicking the pencil icon (to modify name, contestants, etc.)
- Copy a season using the copy function
Copying a Season
The copy function is particularly useful when:
- Moving from one year to the next with similar contestants
- Creating a test season based on an existing one
To copy a season:
- Locate the season you want to copy
- Click the copy icon
- Modify any details as needed
- Save the new season
Season Organization Tips
- Yearly Reset: Create a new season for each calendar year or championship season
- Testing Seasons: Consider separate seasons for pre-season testing, in-season testing, etc.
- Consistent Structure: Maintain a consistent approach to season organization across all your series
