This is how the session will be displayed in ONE RACEHUB. You can use abbreviations like "FP1", "Q1", or "R1" for clarity and conciseness.
Session Times
The start and end times should match the official schedule. These times are timezone-sensitive, so make sure they're correct for the event location.
Session Type
Common session types include:
- Free Practice
- Qualifying
- Race
- Test
- Driver in Loop (DiL)
- Warm-up
Session Listing and Order
Sessions are automatically listed in chronological order based on their start times. This creates a logical sequence for your event activities.
Linking Sessions
In some cases, you may want to link multiple sessions together:
- In the session list, use the linking option
- Select which sessions to link together
- Save your changes
This is useful when:
- You want to see multiple timekeeper sessions as one session in ONE RACEHUB
- Sessions are related but split (e.g., "Qualifying Duels" in Formula E)
- You need to combine data from multiple track activities
Managing Existing Sessions
From the session overview, you can:
- View all sessions within the selected event
- Edit a session by clicking the pencil icon
- Link sessions that should be connected
- Create runsheets for individual sessions
Session Naming Best Practices
For optimal timing service integration:
- Match Official Names: Try to use exactly the same session names that timekeepers will use
- Consistent Short Names: Use a consistent format for short names across all events
- Clear Identifiers: Include numbers for multiple sessions of the same type (FP1, FP2, etc.)
Next Steps
After setting up your sessions:
- Create runsheets for each session
- Configure runsheet layouts
- Begin recording and analyzing your on-track activities
With your event structure now complete, you're ready to start using ONE RACEHUB for your racing activities.
