Sessions

Sessions track and manage specific event activities like practice, qualifying, and races.

What Is a Session?

A Session in ONE RACEHUB represents a specific track activity within an event, such as Free Practice, Qualifying, or Race. Sessions are where your team's actual on-track activities are recorded and analyzed.

Accessing the Session Level

To access and manage sessions:

  1. Navigate to AdminEvents
  2. Click on a series name
  3. Click on a season name
  4. Click on an event name
  5. This will take you to the session level for that event

Creating a New Session

To add a new session:

  1. Click the Add Session button
  2. Enter the following information:
    • Name: The official session name (e.g., "Free Practice 1")
    • Short Name: An abbreviated name for display in ONE RACEHUB
    • Start Date/Time: When the session begins
    • End Date/Time: When the session concludes
    • Session Type: Select the appropriate type (Free Practice, Qualifying, Race, etc.)
  3. Save the new session

Your session will now appear in the list of sessions for that event.

Session Information Details

Session Name

Use the official name that will be used by timekeepers. This helps with automatic matching for the ONE RACEHUB timing service.

Short Name

This is how the session will be displayed in ONE RACEHUB. You can use abbreviations like "FP1", "Q1", or "R1" for clarity and conciseness.

Session Times

The start and end times should match the official schedule. These times are timezone-sensitive, so make sure they're correct for the event location.

Session Type

Common session types include:

  • Free Practice
  • Qualifying
  • Race
  • Test
  • Driver in Loop (DiL)
  • Warm-up

Session Listing and Order

Sessions are automatically listed in chronological order based on their start times. This creates a logical sequence for your event activities.

Linking Sessions

In some cases, you may want to link multiple sessions together:

  1. In the session list, use the linking option
  2. Select which sessions to link together
  3. Save your changes

This is useful when:

  • You want to see multiple timekeeper sessions as one session in ONE RACEHUB
  • Sessions are related but split (e.g., "Qualifying Duels" in Formula E)
  • You need to combine data from multiple track activities

Managing Existing Sessions

From the session overview, you can:

  • View all sessions within the selected event
  • Edit a session by clicking the pencil icon
  • Link sessions that should be connected
  • Create runsheets for individual sessions

Session Naming Best Practices

For optimal timing service integration:

  • Match Official Names: Try to use exactly the same session names that timekeepers will use
  • Consistent Short Names: Use a consistent format for short names across all events
  • Clear Identifiers: Include numbers for multiple sessions of the same type (FP1, FP2, etc.)

Next Steps

After setting up your sessions:

  1. Create runsheets for each session
  2. Configure runsheet layouts
  3. Begin recording and analyzing your on-track activities

With your event structure now complete, you're ready to start using ONE RACEHUB for your racing activities.
