Working with Tyre Sets

Grouping tyres into sets for efficient selection and tracking. Guidance on creating and managing both Season and Event Tyre Sets.

What Are Tyre Sets?

In ONE RACEHUB, a Tyre Set groups four individual tyres together for easier management. Rather than selecting individual tyres for each corner of the car, you can select a single set when preparing for a run. Tyre Sets help you:

  • Manage tyres more efficiently
  • Keep track of which tyres are typically used together
  • Select all four tyres at once in runsheets
  • Track set-specific data

Types of Tyre Sets

ONE RACEHUB supports two main types of tyre sets:

  1. Season Tyre Sets: Sets created for use across multiple events in a season
  2. Event Tyre Sets: Sets created for a specific event only

Both types work similarly but differ in scope and availability.

Creating Season Tyre Sets

Season Tyre Sets are available across multiple events:

  1. Navigate to Tyres > Tyre Sheet
  2. Select your Series, Season, Event, and Session
  3. Click on the Season Tyre Sets tab
  4. Click + Add at the top right
  5. In the popup window:
    • Enter a Name for the set
    • Add an optional Comment
    • Select individual tyres for each position (FL, FR, RL, RR)
    • Use the mode selector at the bottom to choose from "contestant+event" or "all tyres"
  6. Click Save

Season Tyre Sets will be available at any event where the individual tyres are marked as available.

Creating Event Tyre Sets

Event Tyre Sets are specific to a single event:

  1. Navigate to Tyres > Tyre Sheet
  2. Select your Series, Season, Event, and Session
  3. Click on the Event Tyre Sets tab
  4. Click + Add at the top right
  5. In the popup window:
    • Enter a Name for the set
    • Add an optional Comment
    • Select individual tyres for each position (FL, FR, RL, RR)
    • Use the mode selector at the bottom to choose from "contestant+event" or "all tyres"
  6. Click Save

Event Tyre Sets will only be available for the selected event.

Selecting Tyres for Sets

When creating sets, you can select tyres from different sources:

  • contestant+event mode: Shows only tyres available for the current contestant and event
  • all tyres mode: Shows all tyres in your inventory

This flexibility allows you to create sets from any combination of tyres in your inventory.

Managing Existing Sets

Once sets are created, you can:

  • Edit Set Details: Change the name or comment
  • Modify Tyre Assignments: Change which tyres are in which positions
  • Delete Sets: Remove sets that are no longer needed

For both Season and Event sets, click on a set in the list to edit its details.

Viewing Set Usage

In the Event Tyres tab, you can see:

  • Which sets are being used
  • Total mileage for each set
  • Session-specific mileage
  • Color-coded indicators based on mileage thresholds

This gives you a complete picture of how your sets are being used throughout an event.

Example: Creating a Set for Team-Owned Tyres

Let's create a Season Tyre Set for tyres that your team owns and uses across multiple events:

  1. First, ensure the tyres are in your Tyre Pool and marked as available for the events
  2. Go to the Season Tyre Sets tab
  3. Click + Add
  4. Name the set (e.g., "Prime Dry Set 01")
  5. Add a comment if needed (e.g., "Low downforce setup")
  6. Select the appropriate tyres for each position
  7. Save the set

This set will now be available for selection in any event where the tyres are marked as available.

Example: Creating a Set for Event-Specific Tyres

For tyres provided at a specific event (e.g., by a tyre supplier):

  1. First, add the tyres as Event Tyres (see the Event Tyres tab)
  2. Go to the Event Tyre Sets tab
  3. Click + Add
  4. Name the set (e.g., "Race Soft Set 01")
  5. Add a comment if needed (e.g., "Qualifying and Race")
  6. Select the appropriate tyres for each position
  7. Save the set

This set will only be available for the current event.

Tips for Effective Set Management

  • Consistent Naming: Use a clear naming convention for all sets
  • Detailed Comments: Add useful information about intended use
  • Regular Updates: Adjust sets as tyre conditions change
  • Strategic Planning: Create sets based on your race strategy

Next Steps

Once you've created your tyre sets:

  1. Use them in your runsheets
  2. Track their performance data
  3. Optimize tyre pressures
