Pit In/Out Analysis
Analyzes pit entry and exit performance by displaying sector and lap times for pit in/out sequences. Data can be referenced from either the finish line or pit entry/exit lines to provide comprehensive pit stop timing analysis.
The Pit In/Out Analysis plugin is designed to help teams and drivers optimize their pit stop strategies by analyzing the time components of pit entry and exit sequences of competitors. This plugin displays the fastest recorded times for each car across four key timing measurements, with each column sorted individually to show the fastest times at the top for easy comparison.
Car Selection and Filtering
The sidebar provides comprehensive tools for managing which cars are displayed in the analysis:
Bulk Selection Options
- Select All: Selects all drivers currently visible in the sidebar
- Unselect All: Deselects all currently selected drivers
- Manufacturer Selection: Use the dropdown menu to select all cars from a specific manufacturer
- Select All Classes: Selects all available car classes for display
- Unselect All Classes: Deselects all car classes
Individual Class Selection
For more precise filtering, hover over the 'Classes' section in the sidebar to access individual class selection options. This allows you to choose specific classes to display in the sidebar for targeted analysis.
Plugin Display Modes
The plugin offers two primary display methods that can be toggled at the top of the plugin interface:
Value Display Mode
In this mode, timing data is presented as numerical values in a tabular format. This is the default display method and provides precise timing information for detailed analysis.
Chart Display Mode
The chart mode provides a visual representation of the timing data. When in chart mode, you can focus on a single data type by right-clicking in the plugin and selecting from the four available options: 'Sector In', 'Lap In', 'Sector Out', or 'Lap Out'.
Plugin Configuration Options
The plugin can be configured for individual users desires through right clicking anywhere in the main plugin section.
Use Pit Line Reference
The plugin can display data from two different reference points, which fundamentally changes how the timing data is measured and displayed. The two options are below
- FL ref: Finish Line reference mode. Where the 'In' times are measured till the Finish line is crossed and the 'out' times are measured from when the finish line was crossed.
- Pit Line ref: Pit entry and exit lines reference mode. This displays the 'In' times until the pit entry is crossed and the 'out' times from when pit out is crossed.
The selection is displayed in the plugin title to visually indicate which mode the plugin is in.
Note: The reference mode selection significantly affects the timing calculations. Choose the appropriate reference mode based on whether you want to analyze performance relative to the finish line or the actual pit entry/exit points.
Other Options
- Show Percentages: Converts absolute time values to percentage differences relative to the fastest time or selected reference
- Show Delta: Displays absolute time differences from the fastest recorded time
- Color All Cars: Applies background colors to each entry using the colors defined in your preferences
- Show Manufacturer: Displays data grouped by manufacturer
Interface Options
- Show Vertical Scrollbar: Enables scrolling for large datasets or when the plugin window is small, ensuring data fits within the available space
Formula E Specific Features
For Formula E events, additional filtering options are available:
- Power Modes: Hover over this option to select which power mode types are displayed in the analysis
Data Export
All displayed data can be easily exported for external analysis. Right-click within the plugin and select 'Copy all data to clipboard' to copy the current dataset to your system clipboard for pasting into spreadsheet applications or other analysis tools.
Tip: Use the percentage and delta display modes to quickly identify which cars have the most efficient pit entry and exit sequences, helping to optimize pit stop strategies.
