Pit In/Out Analysis

Analyze pit entry and exit performance with detailed sector and lap timing for pit in/out sequences. Optimize pit stop strategies using comprehensive timing data and flexible display options.

Overview

The Pit In/Out Analysis plugin in ONE TIMING helps teams and drivers optimize pit stop strategies by breaking down the time components of pit entry and exit sequences. The plugin displays the fastest recorded times for each car across four key timing measurements, with sortable columns for easy comparison. Timing data can be referenced from either the finish line or pit entry/exit lines, providing a complete view of pit stop performance.

Car Selection

The sidebar offers robust tools for managing which cars are displayed in the analysis, please see here 📎to get more information.

Plugin Display Modes

The plugin offers two main display methods, toggled at the top of the interface:

Value Display Mode

  • Displays timing data as numerical values in a table.
  • Default mode for precise, detailed analysis.

Chart Display Mode

  • Provides a visual representation of timing data.
  • Focus on a single data type by right-clicking and selecting from:
    • Sector In
    • Lap In
    • Sector Out
    • Lap Out

Plugin Configuration Options

Configure the plugin to your preferences by right-clicking anywhere in the main plugin section.

Use Pit Line Reference

Choose between two reference points for timing data:

  • FL ref (Finish Line reference):
    • 'In' times measured until the finish line is crossed.
    • 'Out' times measured from when the finish line is crossed.
  • Pit Line ref (Pit entry/exit lines):
    • 'In' times measured until the pit entry is crossed.
    • 'Out' times measured from when pit out is crossed.

The selected reference mode is displayed in the plugin title. This selection significantly affects timing calculations. Choose the mode based on whether you want to analyze performance relative to the finish line or pit entry/exit points.

Other Options

  • Show Percentages: Converts absolute time values to percentage differences relative to the fastest time or selected reference.

  • Show Delta: Displays absolute time differences from the fastest recorded time.
  • Color All Cars: Applies background colors to each entry using your defined preferences.
  • Show Manufacturer: Groups data by manufacturer.

Interface Options

  • Show Vertical Scrollbar: Enables scrolling for large datasets or when the plugin window is small, ensuring all data remains accessible.

Formula E Specific Features

For Formula E events, additional filtering is available:

  • Power Modes: Hover to select which power mode types are displayed in the analysis.

Data Export

Export all displayed data for external analysis:

  • Right-click within the plugin and select Copy all data to clipboard to copy the current dataset for use in spreadsheet applications or other analysis tools.

Tip: Use the percentage and delta display modes to quickly identify which cars have the most efficient pit entry and exit sequences, helping to optimize pit stop strategies
