Track Table
Manages traffic gaps around a selected car to predict potential traffic interference in front and behind using a compact table format.
The Track Table plugin provides real-time traffic analysis by displaying gap information relative to a selected reference car. This tool is essential for understanding traffic patterns and predicting potential interference that may affect your chosen car's performance during a session.
Getting Started
To begin using the Track Table plugin:
- Right-click on the Track Table plugin
- Select the driver you want to use as your reference point
- The selected driver will appear with their color highlight across the full length of the table
Tip: Choose your reference driver based on the car you're most interested in monitoring traffic for.
Table Structure
The Track Table displays information in four main columns, each providing specific data about the traffic situation:
Car Column
Shows the Three Letter Abbreviation (TLA) of each car with the background color matching the selection made in your Preferences settings.
Traffic Chance Column
Displays the predicted likelihood of traffic interference using three distinct levels:
Traffic Level | Condition | Visual Indicator |
---|---|---|
High | Projected gap will be smaller than the 'CleanAirIfAheadMoreThanSeconds' or 'ImpedingIfLessThanSeconds' settings defined in Event Settings | Red highlight with black text |
Medium | Gap is projected to be smaller than the current gap but not at the High threshold | Yellow highlight with black text |
Low | Gap is not projected to be closer than it currently is | Green highlight with black text |
Gap Column
Shows the existing time gap to each car relative to your reference driver:
- Negative values: Indicate cars ahead of the reference driver
- Positive values: Indicate cars behind the reference driver
- Values update at each sector or loop crossing
Lap Type Column
Displays the lap type we are predicting the car is on, this ranges between: Out, Slow and Push Lap.
Customization Options
The user can right click anywhere in the plugin to open a menu of options for the plugin that they can configure to their needs.
Column Selection
Use the second dropdown menu labeled 'Columns' to select which of the four available columns you want to display in your table view.
Car Range Configuration
Configure how many cars to display using the bottom two dropdown menus:
- Cars Ahead: Set the number of cars in front of your reference driver to display
- Cars Behind: Set the number of cars behind your reference driver to display
- Values can be entered manually or adjusted incrementally using the dropdown controls
Note: Each car appears only once in the plugin and is positioned in front or behind based on where they are closer to the reference driver.
Understanding Traffic Predictions
The Track Table's traffic prediction system relies on Event Settings configurations to determine interference thresholds. The system analyzes projected gaps based on current track positions and lap timing data to forecast potential traffic situations.
This predictive capability allows you to:
- Anticipate when cars may interfere with each other
- Monitor gap changes throughout the session
- Identify optimal timing for key events like pit stops or qualifying runs
Tip: Regularly monitor the Traffic Chance column during sessions to stay ahead of developing traffic situations that could impact your reference driver's performance.
Best Practices
- Configure your Event Settings thresholds appropriately for the track and session type
- Adjust the number of cars displayed based on your analysis needs and screen space
- Use the color coding system to quickly identify high-risk traffic situations
