Tracks

Tracks in ONE RACEHUB represent the racing circuits where your events take place. Each track can have multiple layouts (e.g., different configurations of the same circuit).

Prerequisites

No prerequisites are required to set up tracks - this is typically one of the first steps in configuring ONE RACEHUB.

Creating a New Track

To add a new track:

  1. Navigate to Admin > Tracks
  2. Click Create track at the top left
  3. Fill in the basic track information:
    • Name: The full name of the circuit (e.g., "Nürburgring")
    • Acronym: A short identifier (e.g., "NBR")
    • Time Zone: The local time zone for the track (mandatory)
    • Altitude: Optional, used for simulations and calculations
  4. Click Save

Adding Track Layouts

After creating the basic track, you need to add specific layouts:

  1. Find your track in the list and click the edit button
  2. In the track editing section, add layouts for different configurations
  3. For each layout, enter:
    • Layout Name: The specific configuration (e.g., "Grand Prix", "Nordschleife")
    • Track measurements (see below)

Track Measurements

For each layout, you need to configure several important measurements:

Lap Length

Configure three different lap length measurements:

  1. Official: The official lap length provided by track or event officials
  2. Car Data: CRITICAL - This measurement is used for parts mileage tracking. Ensure this is set accurately, even if you copy the official lap length
  3. Roulette: Your own measurement (e.g., from a track walk)

Additional Measurements

  • Outlap Length: Distance of the out lap
  • Inlap Length: Distance of the in lap
  • Sectors: Track sector definitions

Example: Setting Up Nürburgring

Let's create a track with multiple layouts:

  1. Create Track:
    • Name: "Nürburgring"
    • Acronym: "NUR"
    • Time Zone: "Europe/Berlin"
    • Altitude: 320m
  2. Add Grand Prix Layout:
    • Layout Name: "Grand Prix"
    • Official Lap Length: 5.148 km
    • Car Data Lap Length: 5.148 km
    • Roulette Lap Length: 5.150 km
    • Configure sectors and outlap/inlap lengths
  3. Add Nordschleife Layout:
    • Layout Name: "Nordschleife"
    • Official Lap Length: 20.832 km
    • Car Data Lap Length: 20.832 km
    • Roulette Lap Length: 20.840 km
    • Configure sectors and outlap/inlap lengths

After configuring this, you can go on to set up season/events and sessions.
