Stint Analysis

Compare and analyze lap and sector times across multiple drivers to identify performance trends, manage stints, and optimize race strategy in ONE TIMING.

Overview

The Stint Analysis plugin allows you to compare lap and sector times between multiple drivers, making it ideal for evaluating performance in both sprint and endurance racing. Unlike the "Driver Analysis" plugin, which focuses on a single car, Stint Analysis provides a side-by-side view of all selected cars, organized according to the ONE TIMING car selection column.

Main Features

Expandable Data View

  • Minimized View: Initially, only lap times are displayed for each driver.
  • Expand for Details: Click the three arrows in the header to expand and reveal sector times and speed data. Click again to minimize.
  • Visual Reference: The screenshot above shows the minimized view; expanded view reveals additional columns for sector and speed data.

Column Breakdown

  • Lap Number & Track State: The first column displays the overall lap number and current track state. Hover for more details on track conditions.
  • Lap Times & Pit Info: The next column shows lap times and timestamps for pit entry and exit loops (for In and Out Laps).
  • Lap in Stint: The third column indicates the lap number within the current stint. Hover to reveal the driver name for that stint—especially useful in endurance events with multiple drivers per car.
  • Lap Tags: The fourth column highlights lap tags such as OUT, IN, "S" (Slow Lap), and "C" (Cancelled Lap due to Race Control).
  • Average Lap Time: The "Avg" column displays the average lap time for the current stint, excluding slow/cancelled laps and the first lap of a race.
  • Sector Times, Speeds, Speed Trap: When expanded, sector times, speeds, and speed trap data are shown for each lap.

Stint Summary and Selection

  • Totals at the Bottom: The bottom of the plugin displays the car’s total time, best lap time, and theoretical best lap time (sum of all personal best sector times).
  • Stint Selection: All stints are ticked by default, but you can untick stints for improved readability. The stint number and number of laps in each stint are displayed for reference.

Context Menu Options

There are several context menu options available within this plugin, depending on where you right-click:

General Context Menu

  • Show Time Remaining: Switches the timestamp for Out and In laps from Time of Day to Time Remaining in the session.
  • Show Loops Instead of Sectors: Allows you to view loop times instead of sector times (if available).
  • Copy All Data to Clipboard: Copies all lap and sector or loop times for the selected driver to your clipboard for easy export.

Lap in Stint Column

  • Edit Driver or Power Mode: Right-click in the third column to correct the Driver or Power Mode if they were set incorrectly by the timekeeper.

Lap Label Column

  • Lap Label Management: Right-click in the fourth column to include/exclude specific labels for a lap. Options include marking DRS usage, invalidating a lap, or specifying the tyre compound used.

Notes & Tips

  • Tip: Use the expand/collapse arrows to quickly switch between a high-level overview and detailed sector/speed analysis.
  • Note: Theoretical best lap time is calculated by summing all personal best sector times for each car.
