Fix Duplicate Stream URL
Correct driver setup when two or more channels share the same Stream URL in Stream Health.
What you're seeing:
-
In Stream Health, one or more channels show an orange ring labeled Duplicate URL.
-
Hovering over an affected channel lists other drivers sharing the same URL.
-
Messages may appear on the wrong driver, or two drivers show the same transcription when only one is transmitting.
Step 1: Identify affected drivers
- Open Stream Health
- Find channels with an orange ring
- Hover over each channel - the tooltip shows Duplicate URL shared with: and lists the other driver(s) using the same URL.
- Note all affected drivers
Step 2: Assign unique Stream URLs to each driver
- Go to Settings → Drivers
- For each affected driver:
- edit the Stream URL in the drivers table
- Confirm the Stream URL is unique — no two drivers should share the same URL
- Get the correct URL from your broadcast provider or audio team if you are unsure
- Save each change
Common causes
- A URL was copied from one driver to another during setup
- A placeholder or test URL was left on multiple drivers
- A driver was added without updating the Stream URL
Step 3: Force restart the session
Stream URL changes only apply after a restart.
- Open the Live Session
- Select Force restart session (circular arrow icon)
- Confirm restart
The stream may briefly pause while reconnecting.
Step 4: Confirm the fix
- Return to Stream Health
- Check that Duplicate URL indicators are gone
- When drivers transmit, messages should appear on the correct channel only
If messages were wrong before you fixed it
Fixing Duplicate URL only prevents future errors. It does not correct past messages.
Managers/TV Broadcasters can:
- Edit individual messages
- Delete duplicates
See Message Actions to learn how to correct individual transcriptions.
