Speed Analysis

A comparison tool that displays the fastest sector speed crossings and speed trap values for all cars up to the current point in the session.

The plugin displays data in a sorted format with the fastest speeds appearing at the top of each sector and the slowest at the bottom. Speed values are shown alongside each driver's three-letter abbreviation (TLA) for easy identification or car number in multi driver events.

Driver Selection and Sidebar Controls

Sidebar

The sidebar provides multiple selection options that can be accessed by right-clicking to reveal control options:

  • Select All: Selects all drivers currently visible in the sidebar
  • Unselect All: Deselects all currently selected drivers
  • Manufacturer: Use the dropdown menu to select all drivers from a specific manufacturer, which will update the available cars in the left sidebar
  • Select all Classes: Chooses all car classes to be displayed in the sidebar
  • Unselect all Classes: Removes all class selections using the same method
  • Classes: Select individual classes by hovering over the Classes section and choosing specific classes from the right-side menu

Display Options and Customization

Right-clicking anywhere in the main plugin area opens a context menu with various display customization options:

  • Show Percentages: Displays values as percentage differences compared to the fastest speed
  • Color all cars: Adds colored boxes around all table entries, with colors defined in File → Preferences
  • Show Delta: Shows the raw numerical difference between each driver and the overall fastest speed
  • Show Manufacturers: Displays the fastest speeds organized by manufacturer
  • Show Vertical Scroll Bar: Resizes the plugin to fill the available width and adds a scroll bar for accessing lower values

Reference Driver

The Reference Driver feature allows you to select a specific driver as a baseline for comparisons. When activated, the absolute delta is shown relative to the selected driver, with the reference driver's speed value prominently displayed. The Show Percentages option can be combined with Reference Driver to display percentage differences relative to your chosen baseline.

Data Export

All displayed data can be exported using the "Copy all data to clipboard" option, which copies the information in the exact format currently shown in the plugin. This feature is useful for external analysis or reporting purposes.

Chart View

The Speed Analysis plugin includes a chart visualization mode accessible by selecting "Chart" at the top of the plugin. This view displays speed data for one sector at a time, showing values for all drivers selected in the sidebar.

In chart mode, right-clicking provides additional options:

  • Sector Selection: Change the displayed sector using the dropdown menu with pre-existing sector options
  • Show Manufacturers: Display only the fastest speed from each manufacturer rather than individual driver data

Tip: Use the chart view to quickly identify speed differentials across different sectors and visualize performance patterns between drivers or manufacturers.
