Speed Analysis

Compare the fastest sector speeds and speed trap values for all cars in your session. Instantly identify top performers and analyze speed trends with powerful sorting, export, and visualization tools.

Overview

The Speed Analysis plugin in ONE TIMING provides a comprehensive comparison of the fastest sector speed crossings and speed trap values for all cars up to the current point in the session. Data is displayed in a sorted table, with the fastest speeds at the top of each sector and the slowest at the bottom. Each speed value is shown alongside the driver’s three-letter abbreviation (TLA) or car number for easy identification, especially in multi-driver events.

Main Features

Sorted Speed Table

  • Fastest at the Top: Each sector and speed trap column is sorted, making it easy to spot the quickest drivers.
  • Driver Identification: Speeds are shown next to the driver’s TLA or car number.
  • Multi-Driver Support: In endurance or multi-driver events, car numbers are used for clarity.

Car Selection

The sidebar offers robust tools for managing which cars are displayed in the analysis. Please see here 📎 to get more information.

Sidebar Controls

The sidebar provides multiple selection options, accessible by right-clicking:

  • Select All: Selects all drivers currently visible in the sidebar.
  • Unselect All: Deselects all currently selected drivers.

Display Options & Customization

Right-clicking anywhere in the main plugin area opens a context menu with various display customization options:

  • Show Percentages: Values are displayed as percentage differences compared to the fastest speed.
  • Color All Cars: Adds colored boxes around all table entries, with colors defined in File → Preferences.
  • Show Delta: Displays the raw numerical difference between each driver and the overall fastest speed.
  • Show Manufacturers: Shows only the fastest speeds from each manufacturer.
  • Show Vertical Scroll Bar: Expands the plugin to fill available width and adds a scroll bar for large datasets.

Reference Driver

The Reference Driver feature allows you to set a specific driver as a baseline for all comparisons. When activated:

  • Absolute Delta: Shows the difference relative to the selected driver.
  • Prominent Display: The reference driver’s speed value is highlighted.
  • Combined with Percentages: Show Percentages can be enabled to display percentage differences relative to your chosen baseline.

Data Export

All displayed data can be exported using the Copy all data to clipboard option. This copies the table in its current format, making it easy to paste into Excel or other analysis tools for further reporting.

Chart View

The Speed Analysis plugin includes a chart visualization mode, accessible by selecting Chart at the top of the plugin. This view displays speed data for one sector at a time for all drivers selected in the sidebar.

Chart Mode Features:

  • Sector Selection: Change the displayed sector using the dropdown menu.
  • Show Manufacturers: Optionally display only the fastest car from each manufacturer.
  • Quick Insights: Use chart view to spot speed differentials and visualize performance patterns between drivers or manufacturers.

Notes & Tips

Note: Right-click context menus are available both in the sidebar and main plugin area for maximum flexibility.
